Our experienced team is based in London, not only a place full of historical inspiration, but a hub of creativity and cutting-edge trends. Atelier Textiles embodies this blend of classical and modern design, to create fresh, new collections with a timeless European aspect.
Our team is also the proud supporter of Chances for Children Charity, a wonderful organisation which has created an orphanage and school in Kampala. A percentage of all our sales is donated to improve the well-being and life chances for these beautiful children.
For more than two decades, founder of Atelier Textiles Lara Colgan has worked with fabric, design and colour. Her passion and respect for materials and intricate design stems from childhood, when she would spend time at her Grandmother’s antique textile shop rummaging through the shelves admiring the delicate lace fabrics and the decorative textiles for sale. At a young age Lara saw the beauty in embroidered fabrics and how they become even more beautiful with age. Like works of art, they tell their own unique story.
For over 5 years Lara worked alongside and was mentored by English Home owner and founder Gaynor Churchward. Gaynor taught Lara about the importance of scale and beauty in historical designs, as well as being a wealth of technical knowledge. This wonderfully collaborative relationship resulted in the merger of both organisations in 2015 under the name of Atelier Textiles. Atelier Textiles is now the custodian and sole provider of the exquisite world renowned English Home collections, complementing Atelier Textile's own European inspired collection of designs.
